The Bucks boss was thrilled with a first day victory at York City, one of the favourites for promotion in the Vanarama National League North.
Matthew Barnes-Homer, the former Macclesfield and Aldershot striker, got the winning goal.
It delighted very pleased Edwards in his first league match in charge since taking over at the helm.
He said: "Now we need to reach these levels every week.
"It was a fantastic result for us, York are clearly one of the biggest clubs in the league and not many people will win here this year.
"The players did themselves proud and you can't ask for more than that.
"They threw everything at it and now we have got to make sure that is what happens every week from now on."
