Tollitt said goodbye with a winning goal on Saturday as the Red Dragon edged past struggling Maidstone United 1-0. Watch highlights here.
It was the perfecting parting gift for the winger, who returns to Tranmere Rovers after completing his productive loan spell in north Wales.
Hughes signed McGlashan knowing the winger wouldn’t be at the Racecourse for the final six weeks of the season - and now needs the former Swindon man to step up as they chase the title.
“Ben has been fantastic for me since I have come in,” said Hughes, who accepts his losing the popular wide player is a blow.
“He has chipped in with important goals and some assists, so we are very grateful to him.”
“He gave us something different, but it was good to see Jermaine come on - we saw some of his pace and that hopefully benefit us going forward.
“You can see they’ve got the same characteristics. I’m hoping for Jemaine to be a positive for us.”
