How The Away Day Masters Stuck Again On Saturday

Lee Bradbury believes Havant & Waterlooville are a lot like his hat-trick hero from the weekend Jason Prior - the real deal.

In his interview with the Portsmouth News yesterday, the Hawks manager showered his players with praise after coming away from joint leaders Braintree Town with a headline-grabbing 3-1 win.

It was another great away performance from Havant who have now won five times on their travels.

Prior scored a hat-trick of penalties in their victory at Cressing Road and Bradbury says the forward is proving he can cut the mustard at Vanarama National League South level.

“It was a strong display and we have to transfer the same attitude and hard work into our home games,” he said.

‘Braintree were joint top and unbeaten at home but we were the better side – there was nothing lucky about the win.

“In my 20 years in football, I have never seen a hat-trick of penalties in one game.” added Bradbury.

“They were all good penalties, too. Jason is an intelligent footballer. It isn’t always easy to come out on top in a game of bluff and double-bluff.

“That’s nine in seven for Jason, who is showing he can score goals at this level. The challenge is to keep it going.”
