How It Played Out On Tuesday In The National League

By Sam Elliott

The top five all won on another action packed evening across the Vanarama National League.

Solihull Moors are the only team still unbeaten as they won again - defeating Hartlepool United 2-0 to keep the pressure on. Joe Newton and Callum Maycock scored in the first half to keep Andy Whing’s team undefeated.

But Chesterfield are showing they’ll take some stopping. A vital 2-1 win at Rochdale in front of the TNT Sport cameras kept them five points clear as they won for a seventh game in a row, Tom Naylor hit the winner.

Barnet got a big 4-2 victory at York City as Zak Brunt made the points safe. The Bees are third, and in fourth Gateshead continue to score at will. A 4-0 victory at Oxford City saw Marcus Dinanga notch two and hit double figures for the season.

Both the Heed and leaders Chesterfield have now scored 31 goals this campaign.

Chris Conn-Clarke fired Altrincham into the play-off places as Maidenhead’s worries continue. So go Kidderminster’s - Oldham Athletic won for a third time in a row as Alex Reid and Devarn Green got the goals at Aggborough.

Bromley win for a sixth time in seven games as Chinwike Okoli’s 33th minute goal was enough to get the better of inconsistent Eastleigh at Hayes Lane.

Woking at having a wobble as Wealdstone got a much needed win to kick them on, Sam Bowen struck early to inflict some pain on the Cards in north west London.

Harry Ottaway secured the points for Dorking Wanderers at Ebbsfleet as FC Halifax and Dagenham & Redbridge drew 0-0.

Owen Evans got a late leveller for AFC Fylde against Boreham Wood while Harry Cardwell got another goal as Southend United claimed a point in the 1-1 draw at Aldershot Town.
