Avenue boasted one of the better away records last season with their home form middle of the road.
And ex-Bradford City player Thompson isn't hanging around - he wants his new team to start as they mean to go on as they prepare to face Mansfield Town tonight in what will be Thompson's home management debut.
"We want to have good home form because I think it will take us a long way this season.", he told the Telegraph & Argus.
"We want it to be that family feel, but we want it to be a fortress.
"We feel throughout the season, our home form is going to be massive for us.
"That comes from our intensity on the pitch, it comes from us having the full backing from the fans - I think we'll have that."
Bradford (Park Avenue) get their 2019/20 National League North season underway against Curzon Ashton on August 3.
