Holleran: Leamington Game Plan Paid Off

Leamington boss Paul Holleran paid credit to his side after they defeated Salford City 3-2.

The Brakes defeated the side who had not lost in the Vanarama National League North thanks to a late strike by Kurtis Revan, writes Tom Feaheny.

The result moves Leamington further away from the relegation places.

‘We’re delighted with the game from our point of view. When we had to sit and dig in we did that, and when we needed to be expansive and brave, we were," said Holleran to the club's website.

"I told the players if you just sit in against Salford you’ll get beat, but we did try and play higher and press higher, and keep their better players away from our goal. To do that you’ve got to work extremely hard, and the players were fantastic today."

Next week Leamington will be back in league action as they face another side aiming for promotion in York City.
