Hill: We've Got To Find A Win From Somewhere

By David Richardson

Eastleigh's five-game unbeaten run came to an end on Tuesday evening and manager Richard Hill knows they must start scoring goals and winning games.

Zavon Hines' goal mid-way through the second half was enough for Maidstone United to take the points - watch match highlights here.

The Spitfires are amongst the lowest scorers in the Vanarama National League with just nine goals from ten games, although they have been able to pick up 12 points.

They've scored just three times in their last five and that caused frustration again for Hill on Tuesday, he said: "First-half I thought we looked bright, decent and we played with a bit of tempo and picked up second balls. But again, I keep saying it, in the last third, we weren't good enough.

"It keeps happening. We've got to be better. I felt it was an important toss, that we needed to win it if possible - we knew the forecast and the weather coming in but that's no excuse to how we faded out of the game with a whimper, that disappoints me.

"It's not enough to create half chances, we got to score some goals. When you have lots of possession and you're in the ascendancy, you need to score goals. We've not done it all season.

Eastleigh take on AFC Fylde at home on Saturday, Hill aded: "At the moment it doesn't matter where we're playing, it's difficult for us. We need to dust ourselves down, me included, and prepare for Saturday, we've got to find a win from somewhere."
