The Fleet’s play-off hopes seemed unrealistic earlier this month with the Kent club lagging behind the promotion places.
But the mood has certainly changed and a win this evening at FC Halifax will fire them back into the top seven thanks to their superior goal difference.
Their manager thinks the no pressure environment has helped the team stay in the race.
“I’m just so happy with how far the team has come this season,” the manager said.
“After the problems we have had and a little dip in form, to be where we are and still in the hunt makes me proud.
“But we’ve got ourselves in a good position now and we want to give it a go in the last month of the season.
“The players deserve all the credit as they are the ones going out there and getting the results.
“Nobody has heaped pressure on them and they’ve been able to express themselves. Hopefully we can all keep digging in and we’ll see where it takes us.”
