Hill hails his current squad as best yet

Eastleigh boss Richard Hill is hailing his current squad as the best he has had in this three years at the helm of the Vanarama National League club.

Hill's praise for his players at the Silverlake outfit this week comes despite the Spitfires having won only two out of seven pre-season games.

Having lost to both Barnet and Oxford United, Hill, pictured, was still smiling on Wednesday as he blamed slack defending for both 2-0 reversals,

He said: “This is the best squad in my time here in terms of calibre and experience of player. Now we’ve got to make sure we look a bit more like a team than we do at the moment.”

Hill certainly knows how to hand out praise, also calling Eastleigh the next best club currently competing in Non-League football after Tranmere Rovers and Grimsby Town.
