Highly-Rated Reading Defender Becomes A Loan Magpie

Maidenhead United have taken talented centre-half Gabriel Osho on a month`s loan from SkyBet Championship neighbours Reading.

Osho adapted quickly to the raise in standards from under-16 football to under-18 level and is getting better and better with every game.

Osho, 19, has regularly worn the captain’s armband in making sixteen starts for the under-23s so far this season, having scored twice in thirteen appearances for the same age group last season - he scored in wins over Manchester United and Middlesbrough in 2016/17.

Osho’s name first caught Reading supporters’ attention when he scored a stoppage time equaliser against Sheffield United at the start of an FA Youth Cup run which took the Royals all the way to a quarter-final against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge two years ago.

Osho has also benefitted from football against first-team opposition, playing a part in the Checkatrade Trophy clashes against Bristol Rovers, Colchester United, Southend and Gillingham across the last two campaigns.
