High Five For Jones As Oxford End 2018 In Superb Style!

By Sam Elliott

We all set out to end 2018 in a positive way, but maybe next year we’ll take some advice from Mark Jones.

The Oxford City manager wouldn’t have been happy to see the back of it, and his New Year’s resolution was simple - more of the same! After all, his team won no fewer than five National League South games in December.

The month started well as they stunned then-leaders Billericay Town 3-2 at the AGP Arena.

Oxford followed that up by beating Truro City 4-0 at home, before putting East Thurrock United and Weston Super Mare to the sword.

After recording a score draw at in-form Hungerford Town, they ended the year in fine fettle with a composed 2-0 win at Wealdstone.

January may not have gone as well as planned so far but Jones and his players deserve the recognition for December’s commanding displays.
