Hessenthaler Says Still Plenty On The Line For Eastleigh

Despite his side being in mid-table Eastleigh boss Andy Hessenthaler says they are using the remaining games as a springboard to next season.

With the Spitfires comfortable in mid-table, it is a now a time for the side to gain momentum which can be used for the start of the 2018/19 season, according to their boss, writes Tom Feaheny.

"We have six games to go and we want to end as strongly as possible, finish as high as we can," Hessenthaler told the club's website.

"I and we respect the league and we look at them six games as a chance to get on the front foot for the next season."

Last time out, Hessenthaler says his side gained their best win under him after defeating Aldershot Town.

"I thought we deserved that, as an all-round team performance, it was the best so far.

"It was about the players, they put a shift in, that was crucial for this match.

"Performances like this can be built upon and replicated and then hopefully used again going forward."
