Hessenthaler Salutes First Win As Boss

Eastleigh boss Andy Hessenthaler says he is proud of his side after they defeated Dag and Red 2-1.

This victory helped move them up the table and they are now looking up rather than down, writes Tom Feaheny.

"Last weekend at Ebbsfleet I was pleased with the performance and we did it again, it wasn't an easy place to go but we knew we had a chance," Hessenthaler told the club's website.

"We defended really well, scored a great goal, it was a real team performance, everyone performed ever so well against a good side.

"I have felt it had been coming, but this has to only be the start for the lads, we have to use this performance to move forward.

"We go into the Christmas period felling better but we will not get carried away."
