Hessenthaler: Eastleigh Need To Turn Draws Into Wins

By David Richardson

Eastleigh may have only lost once in their last seven but five of them have been draws and assistant manager Andy Hessenthaler knows this must change.

The Spitfires have also been struggling for goals this season but scored twice on Saturday albeit only to draw at home to AFC Fylde - watch match highlights here.

Richard Hill's side have picked up 13 points from 11 games having only lost two matches all season.

After a disappointing last campaign, the big-spenders will be targeting the extra play-off spots at least but need to start winning more games.

"Probably a draw was a fair reflection of the game," said Hessenthaler. "They're a decent side but it's a bit frustrating for us because it's another draw, we need to start turning them into wins.

"We kept going and showed good character. We could have easily dropped our heads. It's a little bit disappointing but we just have to keep going, it'll come.

"We need to go on a run of back-to-back wins. This league is like that at the moment, Maidstone get three wins on the bounce and all of sudden look where they are in the table. That's our aim, we've got to start doing that."
