With five minutes to go it could have been even better but for Henry Jones strike that brought the scores level, writes Tom Feaheny.
Despite the late goal, it is now eight games without a loss for the Spitfires and they remain unbeaten since Hessenthaler became first-team manager.
"I can't fault the players' efforts today - I thought they were absolutely outstanding," Hessenthaler told the club's website.
"We knew it would be a tough place to come, they are a good side, they’re young, they have very good movement and they take risks.
"Ryan's second goal was exceptional - it was a team goal, and it was an exceptional finish."
“Fylde's late equaliser was a little bit frustrating when we were so close to getting all three points, but this was a good point and a valuable one against a decent side.”
