Hess Adds Jones And Wynter As He Looks To Go Younger

Andy Hessenthaler says his ambition is to have a younger, fresher Eastleigh for fans to watch next season.

The Spitfires have tonight signed Alex Wynter from Maidstone United and Woking man Joey Jones.

They are both 24 and the Spitfires manager says his squad will be full of younger legs next season.

“My remit over the summer was to bring the average age of the squad down and that is exactly what I have managed to achieve,” he told the club’s website.

“The players we are signing, all have bright futures and hopefully that lies with Eastleigh Football Club”

“The chairman and the other directors have been excellent this week in allowing me to make further signings.

“I am fully aware of how tight the budget is to bring in any further signings and they have allowed me to do so, I am really pleased to get these over the line.”

Versatile Jones says the hope is to win promotion into the EFL.

“Being able to focus purely on my football and getting in to a full-time football environment was important for me.

“Speaking to the gaffer it was clear that Eastleigh would be the perfect place for me to progress my football. Having trained with the lads for the first time, you can tell how ambitious everyone is.

“I can’t wait for the season to start now and show the fans what I can bring to the team.”
