The veteran forward has enjoyed success at a number of clubs, including Chippenham Town - where he played with the Crusaders' boss.
He also enjoyed successful spells with Walsall, Kidderminster Harriers, Oxford United and Eastleigh.
And now his new boss can't wait to link up with his old teammate again.
“He came through the Cirencester Town academy before signing for Chippenham Town where I played with him for two years," Herring told the club's official website. "To say I was happy to be in the same team as him is putting mildly."
“He earned his move to Walsall through scoring goals and his attitude and work rate," he added.
"He’s a fantastic role model for our younger players and has an awful lot still to offer on the pitch. I’m delighted and excited to have him with us. The supporters will love him."
