Hellish For Harrison As Cassidy Misses Two Months

Hartlepool United have been left cursing bad fortune, just as their Vanarama National League season was getting off the ground.

After Craig Harrison’s team gathered momentum from two straight victories, they now must contend with a key playing facing a spell on the sidelines.

Striker Jake Cassidy will be out for another two months when it was confirmed an injury to his right foot was a stress fracture.

Manager Craig Harrison knows losing his summer signing for eight weeks is a hammer blow.

“It’s a real blow for us because Jake has been fantastic since he joined the club and played a big part in us getting our first win,” he said.

“He’s shown real bravery to play even when he was in pain but now we know the root of the problem he can get the best treatment and make sure he comes back stronger.

“As ever in football, this provides an opportunity for someone else to come in to the side and shine just like Connor Simpson did against Maidstone at the weekend.”
