Heed In Need Of A New Manager As Dickson Departs

Gateshead manager Dave Dickson has left the club, it has been announced - but a former favourite has returned.

The Heed will play in the National League North next season, it was confirmed at the AGM at Celtic Manor this week.

Dickson was named the club’s manager towards the end of last season.

He took over from Ben Clark, who had replaced York City-bound Steve Watson when he left the role earlier in the season.

It had been expected that Dickson would continue in that role after previously managing the club’s reserve side in the Northern Alliance Premier Division.

But he leaves by mutual consent and Gateshead begin the search for their new manager.

However the North East club have confirmed the return of former owner Graham Wood as club president.

The National League North season kicks off on Saturday August 3, with the fixtures released on Wednesday July 3.
