Goals from Scott Boden and Luke Armstrong secured the Heed's first win in three league games and Watson thought the win was vital to their play-off charge.
"That was a really important win," he told the club's official YouTube service. "The spell we've been through, people make it sound like a horrendous month, it wasn't that bad.
"I was delighted with the effort today, we played really well first-half but there wasn't a great deal of clear cut chances for either side.
"Second-half, we knew they'd [Barnet] come out fighting because they've had a great week and they've got a lot of good players they can shuffle the pack with.
"We knew we'd have a spell where we would be on the back foot but for the most part, I thought we coped with that well.
"We've done great so far this season but we're under no illusions how hard it's going to be. We've got a taste for it now we're in and around the play-offs and nobody wants to miss out.
"The belief is there and with every game that comes and every minute the lads are learning, the belief will continue."
