Heed Are Brimming With Belief Says Boss Watson

Steve Watson says his Gateshead side are brimming with confidence ahead of there trip to Chesterfield on Saturday.

Watson described his side's defeat last week as a blip and says he fully expects his side to respond positively.

"Saturday was a backwards step but that's all it was," he told the club's website.

"After every game where we've not controlled it as much as we usually have, we've responded and I fully expect us to respond on Saturday.

"Chesterfield are a great club and it's a great place to go and we should be looking forward to it and we should be going full of confidence."

Chesterfield have struggled of late and are now without a win in eight games - something Watson says his side aren't thinking about.

"Chesterfield are a club that have come down same as Barnet. They've started probably slower than they would like but they're not a million miles away.

"As I say time and time again, we don't need to look too far beyond what we do.

"If we can control the game and play in their half, we've got a great chance of getting points."
