Heath And Denton Link Up Yet Again As Reds Move Fast

Tom Denton’s return to Alfreton Town will add much needed muscle to the club’s attack.

New boss Billy Heath has made the forward his first signing since taking over - and it’s a player he knows well.

The pair worked together at FC Halifax Town and won promotion via the National League North play-offs in 2017.

He also played under Heath for North Ferriby United - and they will pair up for a third time at the Impact Arena.

“I’ve had him at two different clubs and he has always done really well. He’s played a big part in the success at those clubs and is a huge player to bring in for us, it’s a great addition,” said the Reds new boss on the club’s website.

“Tom is a proven goal-scorer and he has scored goals in both the National League North and the Premier, he can score goals at all levels and brings experience to the side.”

“He is a better player than people give credit for, his physical stature often means people think he’s the natural target man but Tom is brilliant with his feet, he has much more to his game than just heading the ball.

"He’s scored plenty with his feet and we are delighted to have him here at Alfreton.”

“The fans can expect goals; he’s a top striker, he holds it well and can be that target man. But he is also good in both boxes; he is great at defending set plays, corners. It’s a big asset for us and it’s a fantastic first signing.”
