Heat Only Fires Up The Forwards As Goals Flow!

There were some sensational scorelines this afternoon as the goals didn’t dry up in the searing heat.

Oxford City stunned Hartlepool United 5-2 to secure the newly promoted club’s second win of the season in style. They are now unbeaten in five following a tough start.

But Oxford weren’t the day’s highest scorers - that was Gateshead, who hit Eastleigh for six as their long trip was really worth it. Marcus Dinanga got two of them.

Bromley hit four in the live game, sweeping Maidenhead United aside with ease as two goals from Michael Cheek had the game won by half-time.

Barnet keep hold of top spot after a 3-0 home win over Altrincham, Nicke Kabamba iced the cake late on.

Chesterfield turned things around against Dagenham to up the heat, they won 3-1 but needed two late goals. Solihull Moors had to make do with a 1-1 draw at Woking, the Cards grateful to Padraig Amond.

Lee Ndlovu made sure it wasn’t a winning start for Neal Ardley at York City as Boreham Wood twice came from behind to pinch a point.

Ryan Glover and Tyler Frost ended Aldershot’s miserable away run - they left AFC Fylde with a fine 2-0 victory.

Kidderminster keep drawing at home, the latest came against Rochdale as it ended 1-1 while Wealdstone, pictured, got themselves a big win as they ended Ebbsfleet’s sudden surge.

It’s just one win so far for Oldham Athletic, who couldn’t breakdown Dorking Wanderers in a goalless draw. In the early kick off Adam Senior rescued a point for FC Halifax Town at home to Southend United.

It wasn’t sun everywhere - in the National League North, Scunthorpe’s game with Buxton was abandoned due to rain in the 94th minute with the visitors 2-1 ahead.

New arrivals Tamworth go top after Ty Deacons very early double did for Peterborough Sports.

Aaron Martin helped South Shields to another home win - they were too strong for Rushall as Lewis Maloney scored again as Scarborough inflicted pain on Brackley Town.

Spennymoor look fit to challenge this year and Will Harris confirmed three points against Hereford as Chester beat Blyth Spartans 2-1.

Jim Bentley made it three wins from three in charge of Southport as King’s Lynn were put to the sword 4-1 at the Walks.

Elsewhere it was a good day for Chorley, Alfreton Town, Banbury United and Bishop’a Stortford.

Bath City are back on top of the National League South tonight.

They went to Welling United and won, Jordan Thomas got the only goal of the game at Park View Road.

Leaders Aveley couldn’t keep their run going and came unstuck at Slough Town, who have now won back-to-back matches.

Worthing slipped up too but at least got a point at home to Hemel Hempstead thanks to a Joel Colbran effort eight minutes from time.

An own goal four minutes into time added on gave Torquay United a very late victory over promotion rivals Chelmsford City.

Yeovil Town we’re indebted to Frank Nouble who scored twice to help defeat Eastbourne Borough. The winner came via Josh Owers.

Dylan Morgan also grabbed a brace as Taunton Town won 3-0 at Tonbridge Angels. Mitchell Weiss was the St Albans City hero against Dartford.

Elsewhere it was a winning weekend for Weymouth and Maidstone United.
