The Shots took League One Bradford City all the way to penalties before losing the shootout and their place in this season's FA Cup.
But after their weekend defeat to Salford City, Waddock admitted he was pleased with the response his players showed, but said they'd now have to do it again ready for the weekend.
"It wasn't to be but we gave it everything we had," he told the club's official YouTube service. "The players were magnificent tonight as well as the supporters that travelled up here.
"I'm absolutely delighted with how we performed against a League One outfit in Bradford City, who are a good side.
"We bounced back from Saturday [4-0 loss to Salford City] and we've got an important game coming up in the league so we have to bounce back again from this disappointment.
"We've been disappointed with our away results so we need to address that. I told the players that on Monday and what a response.
"We showed a lot of character tonight after Saturday's poor display and result."
