Hawley Praises United's Attitude During Tough Time

Boston United's caretaker manager Karl Hawley says the Pilgrims players deserved their win having kept going despite results being tricky

A 2-0 victory for United away at Leamington was their first in the Vanarama National League since the start of September, writes Tom Feaheny.

"It is fantastic for everyone involved at the club, the boys were fantastic, we put a real shift in, we managed to win and get the clean sheet as well," Hawley said.

"The boys more than deserved the result, we have moved a bit nearer the teams near us, it puts us in a little bit of a better position.

This result means they remain in the relegation zone but now only on goal difference and Hawley says they have kept on going.

"It has been a tough couple of months but the attitude has not diminished, it would be easy for that to happen at times but now we are a potential result off getting away from the relegation place."
