Hawks Don't Plan To Be Camera Shy When BT Sport Show Up!

Alfie Rutherford won’t be suffering from stage-fright this evening as Havant prepare for the Hampshire derby.

The Hawks man is making his first ever appearance on TV and he doesn’t think he or his team will be blinded by the bright lights.

Havant play Aldershot tonight with both sides looking to get their season up and running.

Lee Bradbury’s team have impressed in patches but go into the live BT Sport game fourth from bottom.

Attacker Rutherford says they deserve more points than the six they’ve taken but feels they are waiting for one big result to give them a jump start.

He said: “I’ve never been on the TV before and it’s great we’ve got BT Sport covering the game.

“There’s no extra pressure but of course it makes things that little bit more special.

“I think it will be a good game, it’s a Hampshire derby so there should be a big crowd. I think it’s still very early stages to be judging teams by the points they have got on board.

“I 100 per cent think we should have more points than we’ve got, against the teams that were right up there last season as well.

“I think of Boreham Wood and AFC Fylde I think we fully deserved 6 points from those matches. Also against Salford you would include too, a game we drew. It proves if you make mistakes you get punished in this league.”

Manager Bradbury joked that he isn’t planning to take down the mirrors in the Hawks dressing room.

“As much as the usual butterflies that the occasion will bring, the players won’t be focusing too much on their makeup and hair with the cameras rolling in,” he said.

“There is a little bit of excitement. It’s always nice to be on TV for the players, supporters and everyone at the club. We’ve come a long way in the last couple of years and these are the sorts of days that highlight that.

“I just want the players to go out there and do themselves justice against a team that were in the play-offs last year, who I think will be there or thereabouts this year.”
