Harry Wants Fleet Spurred By National League Cup Tie

Ebbsfleet United manager Harry Watling wants tonight’s National League Cup match with Spurs to spark their season.

Group D plays its second match as the two sides sitting on top of the early table clash.

Ebbsfleet United started with two points in a 2-2 draw with West Brom’s youngsters, but that was dull in comparison to what tonight’s opponents Tottenham Hotspur took part in.

An amazing 5-5 draw at Dagenham & Redbridge had those watching struggling to keep track.

Fleet manager Watling knows he must build confidence and “galvanise” the group.

The club sit bottom of the National League table with seven points from their 16 games and on Saturday the goals flowed again.

A 2-2 draw with Wealdstone didn’t exactly do their survival chances the power of good but the new head coach now needs to use his time wisely.

“We have got the best part of two weeks so I need to create a mini pre-season,” Watling told Kent Online.

“We need to be in play-off form and that’s a fact, we need to hit it now to get us out of where we are currently. I’m under no illusions“
