Harrison Proud Of Heart Shown By Hartlepool Side

The Hartlepool United boss praised the reaction of his team after they gained their first National League win.

After a 1-0 win at Guiseley, the Pool gained a vital three points, writes Tom Feaheny.

Craig Harrison said his side showed all the qualities they need to do well.

"We showed heart, a togetherness from all the players and we took the goal well that clinical touch is something that is crucial."

"I know that we won only by a goal and it was scrappy but I'd take that everyday of the week, we dug in against a physical side and that's all that matters."

Harrison hopes this acts as a springboard for the side.

"We know that getting that first win relieves a bit of pressure but it has to be that first building block that moves us forward."

The Hartlepool boss was also quick to praise the travelling fans.

"The fans were incredible for us 800 here when the results haven't been going our way shows you how much this club means to them, I was so pleased we were able to get the goal in front of them as well."
