Harris Wants Gloucester Homecoming Soon

Gloucester City manager Tim Harris hopes the club can move back to the city sooner rather than later.

The Tigers have been without a home since 2007 when serious flooding ruined their Meadow Park ground.

Since then they have played at Cirencester Town, Forest Green Rovers and Cheltenham Town, and now at Evesham United’s Jubilee Stadium.

There is light at the end of the tunnel, though, as work on building a new ground at the same site has begun.

Gloucester are currently 17th in the National League South and won 3-0 on the weekend at Poole Town a result that delighted Harris and their travelling fans.

"We had enough chances to have won by a lot more," he told the club's website. "We played really well last week and didn't get anything out of the game but we've not done enough over the last five or six games.

"We needed to get the result and I'm delighted we have done. It was a great performance.

"The fans love coming away but the sooner we can come back to our city then this club can go. The longer it takes, then the more difficult it becomes. The fans do like travelling away than, no disrespect, going to Evesham."
