Rovers decided a summer trip away together would help create a real togetherness and Cotterill believes that was money well spent.
He said: “The club took the players away to Germany for a week during the summer and it was money well spent.
“I can’t really comment too much on what’s gone on before but what I will say is that these players really do like each other, they get on, and you can see how important that is.
“They are a good group and I’m really enjoying working with them.”

He continued: “It’s been a really difficult start and that will carry on next week at Solihull. It’s a good, solid start and hopefully that can continue.
“By the time we hit 14 matches we will have played nine of them away. I’m happy with the season so far, you know what you’re getting in the National League.”
