Happy Harriers Give New Owners The Perfect Start

John Pemberton thought Kidderminster Harriers’ performance on Tuesday night was worth the wait as they won in front of their new owners.

They saw the side climb to 14th in the National League North thanks to their gutsy display against in-form Farsley Celtic.

Kiddy could have been forgiven for being a little rusty.

Thanks to international call-ups, opponent’s FA Cup commitments and bad luck the club haven’t played since September.

The 2-0 win showed fans what they have been missing.

Pemberton told the club’s official website: “Obviously, we haven’t played for three weeks which has been hard.

“But one or two of them were carrying knocks, so it’s given them chance to recover.

“It was nice to have the break, because when we got the bodies back in we worked really hard in the three weeks we’ve had off, really hard.

“I watched them on Saturday and they’re very good at what they do so we knew we had a battle on our hands.

“I thought we started well, which gave us a little boost and then the goals came at a good time.”

It was the first three points in the first match since the club found itself under new control.

“The new owners have been really supportive of what we’re trying to do,” the manager added.

“I’m really pleased it is done and I’m pleased for everyone at the club, but mostly just pleased for the supporters.

“The owners said this is a new start and we want it to be positive.”
