Hannah Heads To Gainsborough After His Chester Exit

By Sam Elliott

Ross Hannah, the prolific striker, has decided to play his football at Step 3 next season.

He has signed for Gainsborough Trinity, relegated from the National League North last April.

Trinity hope they are only away for one season - they are confident of a promotion charge in the Evo-Stik NPL Premier.

Hannah came to an arrangement with Chester to part ways last week. Since then he has been linked with a number of clubs.

He now returns to the league where he made his name with Matlock Town in 2011.

The 32-year-old’s arrival has Gainsborough excited and he joins former Altrincham striker Damian Reeves at Northolme.

“We can announce a massive statement of intent with the capture of Ross Hannah to complete an already potent attacking quartet which boasts last seasons’ top scorer Ashley Worsfold, Alex Simmons & fellow new recruit Damian Reeves,” they said on Twitter.
