The defender is entering his second season with the Silkmen and believes they can build on the previous campaign where they finished ninth and played in the FA Trophy final, writes Tom Feaheny.
Speaking to the club's website, Hancox said a strong pre-season has led him to believe they can end up in the top seven places.
"There’s no point in this league trying to aim for mid table, I think we’ve got to go for play-offs as a minimum but it’s going to be a long season, and very hard work, but as long as the lads are on the same page we can work hard and go for it.”
“It’s been a good pre-season, there’s obviously only a couple of us from last year so we’ve tried to incorporate the new lads really and to be fair the lads that have come in have been brilliant.
The Silkmen continue their pre-season preparations as they next face Vanarama National League North side Stockport County, a game Hancox is looking forward to.
“From what I hear it’s a little bit of a local Derby. We’ll go there and get out fitness in, but ultimately you want to win as well.”
