Hamza Is More Than Happy To Help Out With Young Lions

Hamza Bencherif is happy to play the role of a father figure if it helps Guiseley’s season.

The former York City central defender this morning signed for the Yorkshire club.

The Lions had a disappointing season last time out but the new centre-back is looking to help guide a younger squad in the National League North.

He told the club’s website: “I have been following what has been going on at the club and they have signed some very good young players and it excites me that I can use my experience to help them and see them develop into better players.

“I think that I can be a strong character in the dressing room and help them.

“Looking at the squad I will be one of the older heads along with Scott Garner and it is up to us to help develop these youngsters on the pitch and I will be doing everything I can to assist with that.

“It is quite an exciting prospect.”

Guiseley discover the fixtures for the new season on Wednesday July 3.
