Halifax's Denton Won't Go Making Bold Predictions

Tom Denton may have been described as unplayable by an opposition manager recently, but the FC Halifax striker is happy to go about business quietly.

The Town striker was praised by North Ferriby manager Steve Housham and some feel the Vanarama National League North playoff winners have a chance at another promotion.

Denton, talking ahead of the opening day visit of Aldershot, says there is confidence in the camp but that no one at the Shay is making bold predictions.

"You never know what could happen," said the forward when discussing a playoff push.

"But it's all about the start and hopefully the momentum from last season will start us off well.

"It is going to be a tough league but take each month as it comes and see where we are going into second half of the season."

Denton says they are ready for Aldershot, the beaten playoff semi finalists from last season.

He added: "Pre-season has gone well - we have more than matched three Football League clubs and we are ready for Saturday now!

"Our squad is looking good we've made some good signings who have all fitted in straight away in the dressing room and on the pitch."
