But Torquay United manager Gary Johnson revealed his players were angry with themselves despite beating Gloucester City.
A crowd of over 3,000 watched the Gulls remain at the National League South summit on Saturday.
But their performance - in their own words - left a lot to be desired.
“The players are sitting in our dressing room as if they had got beat,” said Johnson to Devon Live after the narrow 2-1 win over the out-of-form Tigers.
“They are not very happy with themselves, and that's a good thing. We didn't get anywhere near the levels we have been getting to recently.
“I know we had lots of chances, and maybe if one or two more had gone in, we might be feeling different but we left it too tight at the end.
“We were just a bit dopey and it wasn't the best performance - I apologise to our supporters for that.”
