Gulls' Boss Sets Sights On EFL After 'Dream' Title

Gary Johnson is certainly not one for the 'one step at a time' cliché.

After lifting the National League South title on Easter Monday, the Gulls' boss has already turned his attentions to next season.

And Johnson insisted his champions won't need any time at all to acclimatise to their new surroundings.

"I am not going for consolidation, I want to give it a go in the National League next year," he told Devon Live.

"This club showed today that it is a Football League club and that will be the aim next season.

"It was a dream to win this league when I took the job.

"I always had a feeling that this club was ready to take off, I am impressed with everything here and I know I made the right decision."

Ahead of their season finale with St Albans, Johnson added. "I hope we can still go out with a win.

"But we are also getting our thoughts together to make sure we have got a strong squad for the start of next season."
