Gulls Boss Gary Is Happy To Roast His Torquay Players!

Gary Johnson will be more than happy to hand out more half-time ear-bashings to his players.

The Torquay United manager revealed he aired some interval home truths at East Thurrock United on Tuesday night.

It had the desired effect as the Gulls completed a turn around to head back from Essex with a good 2-1 win.

It was three points that kept them top of the National League South.

But Johnson knows his team aren’t firing on all cylinders - especially away from home.

In an interview with Devon Live, Johnson said he is happy to keep the dressing room dressing downs coming.

“I said to the boys in no uncertain terms that they beat us up in the first half,” he told the website.

“It was men against boys in their favour. And we didn't show any quality.

“The boys took a roasting quite well, they came out and it was us men against boys in the second half, and our fitness told.”
