Gulls Borrow Baggies Winger

Ahead of the pre-season match with West Bromwich Albion that takes,,,,

,,,,place tonight, Vanarama National League club Torquay United have taken winger Chay Scrivens on a six-month loan from the Barclays Premier League outfit.

Scrivens, 18, comes highly-rated from West Brom's youth academy and hot on the heels of last season’s loanee from West Brom, Andre Wright.

Scrivens made a substitute appearance in Friday night’s 4-4 draw against Bath City.

Player-manager Kevin Nicholson is hoping that Scrivens is a similar success story at Plainmoor: “He’s that right winger we’ve been after. One with pace that is maybe going to cause a few problems for the opposition.

“Hopefully we can do for him what we did for Andre and make him a better player, and he can improve us”.
