Guiseley Bring In New Striker

Striker Kayode Odejayi has signed for Guiseley AFC after impressing in pre-season games.

The former Barnsley, Rotherham and Stockport County player, 35, has joined

The Lions as they prepare for their third season in the National League.

Odejayi was a youth player at Bristol City before signing a pro contract there.

After a loan spell at Forest Green Rovers the striker signed for them full time in 2002/03 season and made 38 appearances, scoring 13 goals, before he moved on to Cheltenham Town in 2003.

He notched 30 goals in 148 appearances for Cheltenham before moving on to Barnsley in 2007, Odejayi played seventy-four games for The Tykes scoring four times.

He had loan spells at Scunthorpe and Colchester before signing for the latter.

It was in his three-year spell at Barnsley that he gained his one international cap for Nigeria.

Odejayi joined Colchester on a permanent basis in 2010 and went on to make 101 appearances for them, scoring 11 times.

In 2012, he signed for Rotherham United where he played forty-two games scoring five goals.

A move was made to Accrington Stanley in 2013-14 season and he netted eight goals for them in thirty-two games.

Next up for the big striker was a forty-game spell at Tranmere Rovers, where he netted 5 goals, followed by a sixty-seven-game spell at Stockport County, where he scored 8 goals.
