Greaves left the Red Rebels this week after nearly a year at the helm.

In a statement released earlier on the player’s official Twitter feed, he announced his next club and paid homage to FC United.

“After an honest chat with the gaffer, it’s been decided that I won’t return to FC as a player at this stage.

“I completely respect that decision and wish Dave Chadwick, the lads and all the fans the very best for the rest of the season and into the future.

“Five-and-a-half years of complete happiness and great memories at FC United that will stay with me forever.”

He continued, “A new chapter for me now and after speaking with a good friend and someone who has my greatest respect in the game, Darren Kelly, I’ve agreed to sign for Hyde United.

“Massive thank you to all involved at FC United for making my time there so special.

“I’m sure we will cross paths again.”
