Despite a 3-0 home reverse to Boston United, a large number of Red Rebels stayed behind to applaud the side from the field.
It’s that type of togetherness that the National League North club needs at the moment.
Three back-to-back defeats has seen the team conceded 12 goals inside the new season’s opening week.
Having come undone at Stockport County and at home Ashton, Boston hardly broke sweat on Saturday.
Greaves took to social media to salute the supporters and promised to put things right after a miserable start.
“Just want to say a massive thanks to the fans that stayed behind and applauded the team and chanted until we was back down the dugout yesterday,” he wrote.
“We certainly didn’t deserve that after the performance we gave.
“We are having a tough time on and off the pitch at the minute but things must and will improve.
“We will be working hard to put it right and get back to putting in performances that our fans deserve to see week in week out.”
Next up for FC United is a trip to Altrincham on Tuesday night.
