Greaves Beams At Proud Moment As FC United Stay Up

FC United of Manchester player-manager Tom Greaves says it was a proud moment for him as United secured their Vanarama National League North status.

A 1-0 win against York City helped the side gain the vital win that means they now can't finish in the bottom three places.

"We played well, it is a great feeling to know we are staying up and to beat another side going for promotion is a good result," Greaves told FCUM Radio.

"The last game before that saw a few players knowing they needed to make an improvement and we did just that.

"This club means a lot to me and so many others and for me to step in as player-boss and keep us up, I want that to continue."

Now with safety confirmed Greaves made it clear that their are still aims to be achieved for the side.

"We have two games to go, we win both, we get the points total I was aiming for.

"There is still a bit to do, but the pressure is off us now and that is a great feeling."
