Great Day For The New Men In Charge As Big Freeze Hits

It was a warm welcome for the new managers as they made a sizzling start in the cold.

Kevin Phillips is the new Hartlepool United boss and he watched his team make a brilliant start as they defeated Ebbsfleet United 1-0.

The only goal of the game arrived from Anthony Mancini on the hour as the Pools showed their manager-in-waiting that they’re up for the fight.

Phil Brown’s watching brief is over and he took charge of Kidderminster Harriers - and what a start it was.

Maidstone United lost at Slough Town, John Goddard’s winner helped the Rebels to another win as they look towards the play-offs.

Torquay United only just beat bottom side Dover Athletic - Brett McGavin’s 59th minute goal broke the Whites’ resistance in the south west.

Lloyd Humphries struck the winner from Weston-super-Mare at Havant & Waterlooville as the Seagulls move further towards safety.

Tyreke Johnson’s equaliser earned Chippenham Town a point at Aveley after the Bluebirds twice fell behind, 2-2 it ended.

There was no top of the table clash in the National League North but there was lots of great action.

Chester are up to fourth after a 2-0 win over Bishop’s Stortford. George Glendon scored again and the clincher arrived from from Christian Norton.

JJ Hooper’s goal helped Blyth Spartans to a big three points against Gloucester City, who continue to struggle.

Cameron Hargreaves scored what could be a huge late leveller for King’s Lynn Town at Hereford, 2-2 it finished.

Alex Wiles earned a point for Scarborough Athletic at home to Peterborough Sports, who went ahead through veteran Michael Gash.
