Gray: Darlo Improvments Were Much Needed

Darlington gained a point on the road after drawing 1-1 at Boston United with manager Martin Gray saying he could see a big improvement in their performance.

Darlo were leading 1-0 against the Pilgrims thanks to a Stephen Thompson penalty but could not hold on and eventually left with a points due to conceding after Kabongo Tshimanga scored, writes Tom Feaheny.

The result sees the side just a point off the play-off places.

"We simply knew we had to put in a better performance than the one where we lost in the FA Cup, it is a great point going forward," said Gray to the club's website.

He added: "We have conceded a soft goal, we let them get into areas they shouldn't have been able to get to. Some of the lads have come in and not played a great deal and you could tell."

Gray hopes his squad can have a bit more luck injury with again a selection of players not able to face United and it remains to be seen if they will be passed fit for the game against Curzon Ashton at the weekend.

"It was three more missing for us, from the squad the week before, seven were then missing in total, it adds to the importance of the point."
