Goodliffe Wants A Woking Lift By Winning Tonight

By Sam Elliott

Woking’s players have been urged to take a giant leap towards survival this evening.

The Cards have won just three of their last 27 matches and that form forced the club to part company with manager Anthony Limbrick last week.

Legend Geoff Chapple and coach Jason Goodliffe took charge of first team affairs following the Australian’s departure.

They good off to a good start - coming from behind to draw 1-1 at Dagenham & Redbridge on Saturday.

They got to out-of-form Maidenhead on Tuesday night know that three points would do their bid to stay in the National League the power of good.

Goodliffe said: “The players have had a difficult time, it’s never easy when a manager leaves a club.

“But we’re focused on the task and staying in the division. It’s the only thing that matters. The confidence hasn’t been there but at Dagenham we saw a lot of commitment and we’ve got to be happy.

“Tuesday is big for us. We know it’s going to be very difficult but we need to get a win on the board.

“If we can it will really give everyone a huge boost. We haven’t become a bad side overnight and we just need three points to settle us down.”
