Goodliffe Applauds Battling Woking After Late Drama

By Tom Feaheny

A late 2-1 win at Guiseley ensured Woking were not relegated today.

A late goal by Richard Orlu with his first touch of the goal ensured that the Cards at least have a chance of staying up, writes Tom Feaheny.

After Barrow conceded late to draw at Aldershot Town as well, results ended better than they were with five minutes to go.

“We have given ourselves a chance and that was all we could ask for, it was a deserved win," Goodliffe said.

"It was a performance that warranted a win and we got it and that was what mattered most."

When speaking about the impact of Orlu, Goodliffe says he was in shock when he won them it

“Richard told me he’d score, I couldn’t believe it when he did but to be fair we kept fighting.

"The plan was to push in forward but to score with the first touch was not part of it!"

So with a week of the season to go, Woking rely on Barrow not winning in mid-week for it to go to the last day, something he is not looking at.

"We can only focus on what we do, I know they can win and with the goal difference it would be tough but we will give it our best shot next weekend whatever happens."
