Goals Will Flow In Good Time For The Shaymen

FC Halifax’s lack of goals isn’t a huge cause for concern with the season over a week old.

The Shaymen have failed to score in all three of their Vanarama National League fixtures they have played in so far.

On the opening day of the new season, they went down 2-0 at home to Aldershot Town. Then in midweek secured a good goalless draw up at Barrow.

They fired blanks at Chester as well on Saturday but manager Billy Heath stressed the positives.

“We’ve earned two good points away from home in the past few days and any draw you get on the road in this league is a good one,” Heath said.

“The second half got really scrappy and we had to fight for every ball, but it’s a decent result for us against Chester, who have been in this league for a while now.

“I think a draw was about right but both sides will probably argue that they could have taken all three points.”

The manager added: “We’ll start scoring, we have good forward players.

“We now move on to Tuesday night’s game when we’re at home to Dover who are another side with a really good start.”
