Remarkably, the 21-year-old featured for Chorley and Woking last time out, with both sides eventually gaining promotion to the National League.
His parent club Salford City also secured a first-ever campaign in the EFL.
So, can he repeat it with his new side? Liam Watson is certainly confident.
"I'm delighted that we've been able to add Kieran to the squad and he'll be a really good addition for us," he told the club's website.
"Kieran is a young lad who is a very exciting prospect. He's got great talent with the ability to play in several positions."
Glynn turned out four times for Salford last season and it was his form at FC United of Manchester that led the Ammies to sign him.
Now he's hoping to replicate that form and boost the Port's chances.
"I'm absolutely made up to be joining Southport," he said. "I'm looking forward to trying to help as much as I can and hopefully get the club back where it belongs."
