Girl Power! Chesterfield Chase More Female Fans

Chesterfield want to feel more of a female force in the stands at the Proact.

They will host a special ‘Women at the Game’ event next month to try and make that a reality.

The initiative is geared to encourage more ladies to attend matches and to create a ‘supportive environment for women to get together and watch live football’.

The club have designated the home fixture with Eastleigh on March 9 to the idea.

Spireites associate director Alison Richardson said: “I’m delighted that we’re able to host this event and really looking forward to welcoming female supporters to the Proact.

“It’s a great opportunity for women who may not have felt comfortable attending games on their own previously to come along and watch the game as part of a like-minded and supportive community.

“I hope the initiative will encourage a new group of Spireites.”

The club are on the up after new manager John Sheridan’s excellent start.

They are now up to 17th following their three points at AFC Fylde but he warned: “It’s not job done yet - not by a long way.”
